World of No Craft

World of No Craft is an installation by the artist Charles Stern for The Glass Factory, Emmaboda, Sweden.

The work explores the spaces between objects in the museum's collection, engaging the audience in a digital form of glassblowing. As the hand is moved inside the frame the objects are progressively morphed.

I designed the interaction, building the software and the electronics to control the animations produced by Charles. Specifically I used openframeworks in combination with an Arduino driven ultrasonic distance sensor.

World of No Craft features in this piece by Swedish television's TV4 to mark the opening of The Glass Factory.

Also exhibited at the Corning Museum of Glass, USA (Summer, 2013).
